West Compton Manor is Conveniently Situated Between Bridport and Dorchester

West Compton is approximately 3 miles South West of Maiden Newton and just North of the A35, between the pretty market town of Bridport and Dorchester the county capital. 

It takes approximately 15 minutes to drive to either one, or less than 10 minutes to drive to Maiden Newton, which is our closest village providing a small selection of shops and restaurants. 

Maiden Newton also offers a local train station, linking Yeovil, Dorchester and beyond.  Dorchester itself boasts two train stations, with direct lines to London taking 2 hours, 43 minutes. 

Driving to London takes approximately 3 hours depening on day and time of departure.

Directions From Bridport or Dorchester

If you are coming from either Bridport or Dorchester along the A35, the turning north to West Compton is well signposted.  After taking this turn, follow the road until you come to a 'T' junction. 

Follow the sign and turn left at this junction onto the Roman Road.  After a short distance, take the first right, again signed for West Compton. 

You will come down a steep hill to a junction at the bottom.  Take the right hand turn, signed to West Compton.  You are now entering the main part of the village, so please drive slowly. 

Follow the road until you find yourself driving under a large stone arch and into a courtyard.  You have now arrived at West Compton Manor.  

West Compton Manor is Close to  Maiden Newton

If you are coming from Maiden Newton, take the road to Wynford Eagle.  Drive through Wynford Eagle and stay on that road. 

You will pass through Higher Wynford Farm, with buildings on both sides of the road.  Keep going past a few further properties and you will come to a junction.  Take the first left, please be aware that although signed for West Compton, it is difficult to see. 

You are now entering the main part of the village, so please drive slowly.  Follow the road until you find yourself driving under a large stone arch and into a courtyard.  You have now arrived at West Compton Manor.

If you would like to visit us, we would be delighted to show you around and are available on most week days even at short notice.  We will also accommodate evening and weekend visits wherever possible, but please don't turn up without first making an appointment as we would hate for you to be disappointed.
